Dr. S. Sankar

Dr. S. Sankar had done his post-graduation in Environmental Toxicology and PhD in Environmental Health. He is presently working as Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Health engineering, at Faculty of Public Health, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU). He had been as visiting scholar to University of California, Berkeley, USA for training in occupational and environmental health. He has been instrumental in developing curriculum for Public health and Environmental Sciences programs at Faculty of Public Health. He has served as consultant and advisor to WHO on special assignments concerning occupational and environmental health training and risk assessment activities in South East Asian Countries. With research interest is on Exposure Science, he has designed and conducted numerous large scale air pollution and exposure assessment studies and also was responsible for the selection, validation and deployment of wide range of air sampling equipment in the field. He has been involved in conducting more than 40 research projects funded by national and international agencies. He has more than 60 research publications to his credits.
