Dr. Ramya Selvaraj

Dr. Ramya Selvaraj received her B.E degree with honors in Electrical Engineering from Velammal Engineering College, Chennai, India, in 2011. She completed her M.E. in Power Electronics and Drives from PSG College of Technology Coimbatore in 2013. She completed her Ph.D. in 2019 from the engineering design department in Optical gas sensing technologies at IIT Madras. She was in the pioneering batch of early career fellows at IIT Gandhinagar from 2020-21. At present, she is working as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at NIT Raipur. She has a keen interest in interdisciplinary research with a focus on societal issues. She won the Carbon Zero Challenge, a renewable energy contest conducted by the U.S. Consulate General and Virtusa Polaris. This competition led to her successfully incubating a startup at IIT Madras research park. Her research interests include Chemical and industrial gas sensing, TDLAS, Breath gas analysis, Photoacoustic spectroscopy, and environmental gas monitoring.
