Dr. Parth Sarathi Mahapatra

Dr Parth Sarathi Mahapatra has ten years of experience in the field of air quality management, having done extensive work in India, Nepal and Bhutan. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Zoology (Honours) from Ravenshaw University, India (2008) followed by a Master of Science in Environment Management from the Forest Research Institute, India (2010) and a Ph. D in Science from the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, India. He then worked with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal to work on the science-policy interface around air pollution issues. His works involve researching different air pollution issues using a holistic approach in the South Asian region. He also conducted studies in the high-altitude regions of the Hindu Kush Himalayas. He has organized regular training, conferences and workshops, and mentored Bachelors, Masters, MD, and PhD level researchers. During his research tenure, he has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals of international repute and a book chapter. He has been invited as a speaker at various national and international organizations, conferences, workshops, and summer/winter schools and at different international organization. He is a reviewer for various international journals and topic editor for the journal Atmosphere. During the last 10 years he has also received a few awards and grants at different national and international forums. Presently he works at The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, based at Nagpur as a Technical Advisor
