Dr. Chithra V S received her B.Tech Degree from University of Kerala, Masters from Anna University, Chennai and Ph.D - Environmental Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. She is currently working as Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, KMEA Engineering College, Kochi, Kerala.

She is recipient of several fellowships and awards such as Rekha Nandi and Bhupesh Nandi Prize from The Institution of Engineers (India), Shree Gayathree Devi Award from IIT Madras etc. She has published more than 30 research articles in various international and national journals and conferences. Her area of interest include Indoor air quality, Air Pollution Modelling, Emission inventory, source apportionment, health and environmental impacts of air pollution.

She is member of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Society for Technical Education and reviewer of many reputed journals. She also visited many countries like USA, UK, Singapore etc. for research and academic activities
